Lithuania Christian Camp

The “little kids” session of Lithuania Christian Camp which was held at Camp Ruta near the town of Moletai is now complete. God certainly blessed us with one of the best sessions yet. We had eighty terrific kids eager to hear and learn about Christ.

This was our tenth anniversary and God helped us celebrate it wonderfully. Only seven of us from Gateway went to staff the session. More and more the Christians in Lithuania are assuming leadership responsibilities.

We appreciate all who have helped support this effective ministry and pray that it will only continue to grow each year. Please be sure to check out the August issue of the Christian Chronicle for more on this camp session.  Here are some more pics for you to enjoy!

  2. Looks like lots of fun! I might want to make that trip on day!

  3. Adam G. says:

Looks like a good time. Wish I could hike those Lithuanian woods and give that ancient language a try.

  4. DIana Bradshaw says:

It looks like Camp Ruta has made lots of improvements & you all had a great time as usual. It’s a great thing that the locals are able to take more and more of the leadership roles. You all have done your jobs well. It was good to see Bud is still going and looks good.
    Keep up the GREAT work!

  5. Rodney Livingston says:

Danny I miss camp so much. Thanks for the pictures and great success for yet another year. I have wonderful memories and look forward to going back one year. Glad you were all safe. I will be praying for the work in Lithuania.

    Thanks for commenting everyone!

Erik, we were so thankful you could accompany us on this journey. It was a blessing getting to know you better.

Tammie, you have an open invitation- and if you could persuade your sis, Diana to come back- that would be even better! Good to hear from you Diana.

Adam, Lithuanian is an ancient language for sure and difficult to learn. As for their woods- they have the most forested land in all of Europe. It is wonderful.

And Rodman- you need to get back with us bro! We miss you. Thanks for your prayers.

  7. Hey everybody:

Our online editor just posted the Lithuanian content from our August print edition. You’ll find the link at:

Or you can read the story directly at:

You’ll also find some “bonus photos” that didn’t make the print edition and (this is what I’m REALLY excited about) a brand new feature where you can hear some audio from the camp and the Vilnius church. (You’ll hear campers yelling during a basketball game, singing from the church and some comments from Ed about the camp itself).

Please let me know what you think! And if you want some extra print copies, please e-mail me your mailing address (

Isn’t church camp a wonderful thing. Glad it went so very well. God does great work.

  9. Carlee Denton says:

It’s pretty cool seeing kids that were small campers in the first years we started going over there now being counselors! (Evelina) It doesn’t seem like it should have been 11 years ago we were sitting at SLCC talking about this, and then now to see what that has turned into. It doesn’t seem like it’s been 5 years since I have been over there either. I love seeing the progress it’s had over the years, but it makes me so sad when another year goes by and I am not able to go. One day! Rodney and I both are going to find a time when we can come! It looks awesome, I am so thankful for you and Bud.
    God Bless
