In Jerusalem?

Well really, I am in Nashville- for us Church of Christ types that is as close as we can get on this continent! 🙂

It has been a couple of weeks since I posted. Of course I blame busyness. Since I posted I made a trip to Greenville to celebrate (along with my sisters) my mom’s eightieth birthday. I performed a wedding ceremony on Pensacola beach of a young man I saw grow up in Mississippi- Xan Spencer. His bride is gorgeous. And I have spent many hours with my head in books for my latest class from Harding. All in addition to normal stuff at church and with family.

Now I am in Nashville at a sermon seminar at Lipscomb University. Very good stuff on the first night. I am part of a “cohort” group. Les Ferguson, Jr., Cecil May III, Allen Coker, Sam Garner, Brad Adcock, Danny Halman and a new friend, Clyde Slimp are also in this group.

My buddy John Dobbs was supposed to be with us, but his step-dad is critically ill in New Orleans. Please say a prayer for this family.

As always- thanks for checking in.

Wish I was there. There are so many people I’d like to see…so many people I’d like to meet. Tell everyone I said hello.

I can’t put Jerusalem (holy land, Jesus, David) in the same picture with Nashville (grand ole opry, Minnie Pearl, Dolly Pardon). We need a new place to meet with a respectful name and reputation. How about…..Bethlehem, PA? A place of new beginnings! Especially after the steel industry went belly up and everyone either migrated out or was retrained. And, the move would eliminate the “myth” that we are a southern church.

Sounds like a good time at the sermon seminar.

I haven’t thought about this much lately, but could Abilene be Jerusalem and Nashville be Syrian Antioch? Or maybe even Rome?

Oh, and what does that make Bethany, Henderson, Searcy, Memphis, Lubbock, Dallas-Fort Worth? Great, now I’ll be trying to figure this out all day. . . .

LOL- I like your thinking Frank!
